This Hour Has 22 Minutes Ambushes His Lardship

Thanks to Mary Walsh, the entire CBC network has been giving what seems like hours of time to our poor aggrieved mayor to complain about being ambushed in his private sanctum. I have not heard such a concentrated amount of momma’s boy whining since I was in grade 4 on the first day of snowball season. I only have one real question about this particular Princess Warrior episode: How can you satirize this particular mayor? For a real laugh at His Lardship’s expense, check out these prize pieces of video self-satire (from a pretty serious documentary on policing) that we posted before this idiot was elected last year.

Update: The mayor got out of the ensuing brouhaha over his intemperate 911 calls to rescue him from the aging Princess Warrior. He admitted that he might have used the word "fuck” out of frustration with the 911 dispatchers, as in “I’m the fucking Mayor of Toronto! Where are the fucking police?” However, he vehemently denied calling the dispatchers “bitches.” Invoking Ford family values, he claimed that no Ford would ever stoop so low as to call any woman a bitch. And the chief of police, as bias-free a judge as could be found on short notice, backed him up.

If you’re still a little skeptical, take a look at this video of the all-night deputations during the core services review. Vikki VanSickle, the author of a children’s book, Words that start with B, earns some special open mike commentary from his Lardship at about the 3:35 mark. Apparently, he knows a word that starts with B to describe Ms. VanSickle.
