Wow. This is amazing! The Interweb still works as advertised from time to time.
A personal reminiscence of being at my first Grey Cup:
This does recall a time in my younger years as an Argo season ticket holder with my family. In those futile Argo years, a certain groundhog day quality to the Grey Cups. The first two years were the last of the Als-Esks three-peat. Beginning in 1957, for 5 of the next 6 years, the finalists were the Cats and Bombers. It was a constant diet of Jim Trimble, Bud Grant, Kenny Ploen, Ernie Pitts, Bernie Faloney, etc. Only once did two other teams appear (1960 Ottawa and Edmonton). So it's back to the future. I finally saw a Grey Cup live in 1959. The Bombers triumphed. Ernie Pitts caught a crucial pass right in front of us.
Archival footage from the 47th Grey Cup. Ernie Pitts catches a TD pass from Kenny Ploen to put the Ticats out of their misery.
