Randy Pausch's Last Lecture (76 minutes)

This is a special Sunday morning post. We've heard so many stories about sadness, loss and rejection at Joe Briggs's Place of late that it seemed time to post a good news story. A steady diet of irony and cynicism can make you think the world is blacker than it is. Carnegie Mellon Professor Randy Pausch is dying from pancreatic cancer and gave his last lecture at the university on Sept. 18, 2007, "Really Achieving Your Childhood Dreams," Pausch has worked in virtual reality and computer games-making for most of his career. Some of those guys could be a little hard to take. We used to work with some of them a few years ago. But there was a good side to the positive thinking that was part of the software development world. The lessons here ("If you lead your life the right way, the karma will take care of itself, the  dreams will come to you.") are worth listening to, particularly if you've suffered a loss or a setback recently.
