Magic Beans Schemes for Toronto
You can always trust CityPulse to go out and find the stories that explain life in our big and complicated city. First you interview a somewhat serious candidate for mayor with a bright idea for funding transit expansion. After the newsgirl brandishes a pneumatic nut driver, you just know know that she's going to head over to the local Tim Horton's parking lot to interview some real folks just in from Toronto's hinterland to get their viewpoint. And then on to interview an even more somewhat serious candidate for mayor to get his input on this revolutionary road toll proposal. Wow! Can you believe that Toronto hasn't actually tried "monetization" before now? Andrea Piunno is much too polite to ask: "Hey Rocco, is Ignatieff out of the woods yet?" Too bad she didn't drop by our office. Road tolls? City assets fire sales? Mere trifles! How about Toronto border guards armed with uzis? Now that would show we mean business.
