Joe Briggs Announces: The Canadian Premiere of JUSTICE ON TRIAL

“JUSTICE ON TRIAL” screens for the first time in Canada at 7 pm Monday December 13th, UofT Medical Sciences Auditorium

On Monday December 13th at 7pm a powerful new film “JUSTICE ON TRIAL – The Case of Mumia Abu-Jamal” will have its Canadian premiere. The event, to be held at the Medical Sciences Auditorium ( 1 King’s College Circle, University of Toronto),  is sponsored by CKLN, Common Cause, International Bolshevik Tendency and Socialist Action. Endorsing organizations include Angola 3 Support Committee, Black Action Defense Committee, NDP Socialist Caucus and Socialist Alternative. Organizers are seeking endorsements from other organizations, including those which supported the recent 9 November united front demonstration for Mumia in Toronto .

“JUSTICE ON TRIAL” was produced in response to “Barrel of a Gun,” a film attacking Mumia that was amply funded by the Fraternal Order of Police, which has spent a great deal of money and effort over many years in attempting to have Mumia executed. The $5 donation requested from those attending the premiere will go directly to the producers to help them pay down debts incurred for making the film

“Justice On Trial” was shown in Philadelphia the week prior to the 9 November hearing on his case before the U.S. Third Circuit Court. The film has its Los Angeles premiere on December 5th, and will be shown on 12 December as part of the Black Panther Film Festival in New York City .
