On one segment of Democracy Now today (13 December 2012), Matt Taibbi was interviewed about a US Department of Justice settlement with HSBC over money laundering charges see below). Forbes Magazine had reported on the settlement by asking what you had to do to get into real trouble these days. British banking let us know in advance that the 2008 disaster was coming. Apparently, international banker hijinks are far from being a thing of the past. Taibbi dealt with the same question on the Eliot Spitzer show:
