The incoming Governor of Maine has ordered a change in the ambience at the Maine Department of Labor. In order to promote a more neutral, job-creating image, he has ordered a 2008 mural in the reception area be removed, lest it scare away corporate investors. He also wants to change the names of some of the meeting rooms (currently named after Cesar Chavez and Frances Perkins) so that they appear less one-sided. Maybe he could get a corporate sponsor to underwrite the redecorating costs. Yes, maybe something like the “Pinkerton Arbitration Hall” might set the right tone.
