NAMB* Chronicles: better jokes might work!

ABSOLUTE DESPERATION HAIL MARY DEPARTMENT
In today’s Star one of the Richler clan suggests that we go after the Harpoplicans and Nick Kouvalis with something new and different—”the thing that would swiftly undermine them — a joke….” Perhaps we did not make ourselves clear in our updated post on the Princess Warrior gambit about the futility of trying to laugh the crazy Ford boys out of Toronto. In that post we pointed to our previous pre-election posts on Rob Ford as a Toronto councillor, the whiny rich momma’s boy dressed up as man-of-the-people white trash. If that was not enough to get him laughed or cringed off the Toronto mayoralty stage, I find it hard to imagine a joke that would. It was hardly surprising that Kouvalis would seek another stage after his Toronto triumph. He was so proud of the fake twitter account and the stupid YouTube video that he claimed kept John Tory out of the 2010 mayoralty race. It was clear that he was not going back to the world of Walkerville politics. And then there were the Harpoplicans. How on earth did the Richview Collegiate cowpoke ever survive this 2005 wardrobe malfunction? Or the “erection inutile” fiasco? All I can say is that it’s going to have to be some joke to outdo the constant comedy of the Fords and the Harpoplicans.

Steve and Nick: Jokeproof

*NAMB is the acronym of a new political consulting firm (Nobody Asked Me, But…) the boss and I are putting together.
